Nine major misunderstandings in the use of magnetic gear pumps

1. The magnetic gear pump cannot be idle.
After the magnetic gear pump is idling, the bearings in the pump will quickly lose lubrication and wear. The eddy current heat of the internal magnetic rotor will quickly heat up due to loss of cooling, resulting in high-temperature demagnetization and damage in a short period of time. To avoid this, protection can be monitored.

2. When the outlet valve is closed, the pump cannot run for a long time.
When the flow rate approaches 00:00, the medium in the pump will be superheated and evaporated under the action of the rotating impeller. At this time, the sliding bearing will lose the lubrication of the liquid, and the gap between the internal magnetic rotor and the isolation sleeve will be smaller. The cooling of the circulating liquid is also lost during the evaporation process, causing high-temperature demagnetization and damage.

3. When the flow rate is insufficient or excessive, the pump should not be allowed to run for a long time.
When the magnetic gear pump operates away from the specified flow range, it will cause an imbalance in the axial force, causing the axial thrust bearing load to be too high, causing excessive wear, causing cavitation, and preventing the pump from working properly.

4. The pump should not exceed the rated temperature difference.
During the operation of the magnetic gear pump, the process loop of temperature changes must be monitored to prevent the pump from exceeding the rated temperature deviation.

5. The gear pump cannot be subject to thermal shock.
Under normal operating conditions, the heating and cooling rates of the pump should not be greater than 10°c/min. Premature damage to the plain bearing system can occur due to overheating shock to the pump.

6. If the outlet pipeline is completely closed, the pump cannot be started.
In a traditional starter gear pump to fill the pump, the valve should be fully open when the liquid in the inlet line is opened, and the valve should be opened 1/5≤1/4 in the outlet line.

7. Do not discharge gas and do not start the pump.
Before starting, the relevant pipelines of the pump should be drained to ensure that there is no gas at the pump inlet.

8. The gear pump is in a cavitation state.
When changing the medium transported in the pipeline, we should first consider the change in the effective NPSH of the pump to meet the requirements, otherwise cavitation may occur. Cavitation can cause severe damage to the pump in a short period of time.

9.Start when the gear pump rotates backward
Running the pump should start in the direction specified by the manufacturer, otherwise it will cause the water pump impeller to break and the temperature to rise sharply, causing serious damage to the pump.

Strictly observing the above matters requires attention, which can prevent more than 90% of abnormal damage to the magnetic gear pump, and at the same time reduce the labor intensity of maintenance personnel, making our own contribution to our safe production and environmental protection!
